Steve Prater, Boy Engineer

This was the beginning.  Someone from a suite above threw this out of a window and it landed on the overhang under our balcony.  It just lay there.  And taunted the man who had no rags.

But man discovered tools and engineering was  born.

He used to fish with his Dad in Canada.

But that was long ago and with big, sharp hooks.

This, in spite of the intense concentration, doesn’t appear to be working.

A new hook–not sharp, but very big.

Maybe too big.

Later–Getting serious.  It’s metal and has a pointy thing on it.

Even later–notice cars now have lights on.

But the boy engineer triumphs with skill, determination and persistence.

It turned out to be a teen boy’s white shirt, but for Steve, it is a rag to clean his bike.

Finally he can cook dinner.
