Yarn Bombing sites

IMG_2743Yarn Bombing–the book by Mandy Moore and Leanne Prain arrived.  It’s a must own.  Photos upon photos of great street art.  Some simple, some very complex, all clever and great fun.

I’ve read about half of it and learned that outlaw knitters are everywhere and nothing new.  It’s been going on forever.  The book is filled with beautiful ideas, interviews with many groups (or soloists), tips for assembling you own crew and some fun patterns.  My favorite is the tennis shoes you can knit and throw over a power line.  Much more fun than Chuck Taylors.

The book is available from the publisher  Arsenal Pulp Press in Canada.  arsenalpulp.com for only $19.95 US.  It’s more than worth that just for the pattern for the knitted poster frame (Think gold, victorian) that I plan to knit and hang in my home.IMG_2744

The book says your first bombing should be something special, so I chose to bomb my own tree.  Sarah is very important to us.  Without her you could tell how ugly the house really is.  It’s not a great tag, but it makes me smile.  I can’t wait for Steve to see it.IMG_2742
